How to Use Gel Wax Melts: Step-by-Step Guide & Clean Up

How to Use Gel Wax Melts: The Ultimate Guide

Welcome to the mess-free world of gel wax melts! If you are used to traditional wax melts, you are going to love how easy gel melts are to use, how long they last, and most importantly, how incredibly easy they are to clean up.

Follow this simple guide to get the perfect scent every time.

Step 1: Add Gel to Your Burner (Start Small!)

Place your gel melt directly into the dry dish of your burner or electric warmer. Do not add water.

💡 TIP: Start Small! Gel melts are highly fragrant. We recommend starting with a small portion. If you want a stronger scent throw, you can easily add another gel melt to the pool once it melts. Just be careful not to overfill your burner well!

Step 2: Warm It Up

  • If using a tea light burner: Light a standard, unscented 4-hour tea light underneath. (Never use an 8-hour tea light, as these get too hot and can damage your burner and make the scent disperse to quick).

  • If using an electric warmer: Simply switch it on and let the heat do the work.

Step 3: Enjoy the Scent (And Reuse!)

As the gel warms up, it will release its premium fragrance. Once you are done, simply blow out your candle or turn off your warmer.

The gel will solidify as it cools. You can reheat the same gel melt multiple times until the fragrance completely fades.

Step 4: The Satisfying Peel (No Mess Cleanup!)

This is the best part! When the scent has fully faded and the gel has completely cooled and solidified:

  1. Use your finger to gently find the edge of the gel.

  2. Peel the gel right out of the burner dish in one clean piece.

  3. Throw it in the bin!

No scraping, no hot liquid mess, and no paper towels needed. Your burner is instantly clean and ready for a brand-new scent.

⚠️ Gel Melt Safety Rules

  • Always let the gel cool down completely before trying to peel or touch it.

  • Never add water or oils to your gel melts.

  • Keep your burner on a flat, heat-resistant surface away from drafts, children, and pets.

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended.
